In PSHE we have been learning about the roles and responsibilities of parents and carers. We read different poems that were written in the role of children in order for us to understand the needs of a baby/child. We then created a list of needs for a baby. Using our ideas we wrote our own poems from the viewpoint of a parent and wrote about the love and care needed to bring up a baby.
In 6LJ this half term, we have thought about the role of parents. We've discussed the responsibilities of new mothers, fathers and carers and how the birth of a new child impacts on other people's lives. The children loved reading the poem 'I Love Me Mudder' by Benjamin Zephaniah and writing their own poems imagining that they were the parent.
