Year 1

We have been talking about the equator and about the hot and cold areas of the world. On a work map we identified the temperature it would be in different countries, and how this is often because of their proximity to the equator.

This week in Geography the children have been learning about locating the world’s 7 continents on a map and in an atlas. The children had a class discussion about what important features are seen on the globe, they identified the oceans, land and the sky. The children began to research the continent of Antarctic to help with their learning adventure. After the children worked together in groups and drew a world map, naming the continents. Well done Year 1, you were all engaged and enjoyed the activity and worked excellent in a team.

We know the 6 continents!
