Digital Art with Dinosaurs -1SP
This week the children in year 1 had a special visit from the T-Rex Jam. The children learnt how digital art is produced and they became film producers/ directors for the afternoon. The children learnt how to use a special effects green screen to create their own scary dinosaur movies. The children showed their films to their peers once they were completed.
This week during Computing the children have been consolidating their learning on pictograms and using purple mash to record and show data. The children were set a task to role a dice as many times as they could in one minute and they had to record the data from their roles onto a pictogram. The children were able to use the keyboard and mouse to input the data. Well done!
This week in Computing the children have been collecting data from their peers about what their favourite fruit is. The children recorded this and then inputted their data into a pictogram on Purple Mash. The children had to select the correct number of fruit/ type of fruit to match the data and they checked this to ensure that it was correct. Well done!
This week in Computing the children have been thinking about different modes of transport and how they travel to school. The children each shared their method of travel with the class and we collected the class data and recorded it on a diagram. We found out that walking to school was the most popular and getting the bus was the least popular. Super learning!
This week in ICT the children discussed and illustrated the transport used to travel to school. We created a concept map as a class using the app 2 connect on purple mash. Children then contributed to the collection of class data by drawing and writing how they get to school. They used these illustrations to create a simple pictogram. Well done Year 1!
