U11 Football League

Tournament vs Westwood, St Anthony's & St Philip's

On Wednesday 15th January, our U11 team attended a tournament at Cockburn High School where they played 3 away league games.

The first game was against Westwood and the Clapgate team worked extremely hard with some tight defence, some fabulous passing and a great strike by Lucas. This finished 2-1 to Westwood.

The second game was against a strong St Anthony's team. The team kept their motivation up and continued to show some great defending skills. This game finished 7-0 to St Anthony's.

The third and final game was against St Philip's. The team worked really well together with some good communication and encouragement to one another. This game finishes 5-1 to St Philips.

Well done to all our team who continued to show their physical and social skills within all 3 football games. A special mention to Beaudi, Hellena and Henley who were chosen as Players of the Match across the tournament.

Clapgate vs Ingram Road

On Tuesday 17th December, our U11's played Ingram Road at home. Our team played well, sticking to their positions as much as they could and keeping morale up against a very challenging side.

There was some fantastic defence by Alfie L, Olivier A, Henley, Manny & Leo. Our goalkeeper, Beaudi, made some incredible saves and the team continued to stay tight under a lot of attacking pressure.

Hellena, Olivier A and Regan worked well on the chances they had at attack with some strong passes made and some great touches to get the ball under control.

The game finish a 12-0 win to Ingram Road. Our U11's should be proud of their performance against a very strong team.

Clapgate vs St Anthony's

On Friday 22nd November, our U11's played their second game against St Anthony's at home. The team got off to a good start and continued what had gone well last match as well as focusing on the areas they could make even better. The teams' passing was much stronger and they held their positions well.

St Anthony's took the lead in the first half but after a good half time team talk, Clapgate went in with a positive attitude. Beaudi continued to make some amazing saves and there was some fantastic defending from Olivier A, Alfie L, Bradley & Alfie PG.

An own goal was scored by St Anthony's and there were some great attacking attempts by Hellena & Reagon.

The game finished 5-1 to St Anthony's but a lot of positives to be taken. Well done to our U11 team! A special mention to Beaudi & Alfie L for being awarded POM by Miss Beaumont & Mr Grainger!

First Game against St Philip's!

Our U11 team had their first match against St Philip's on Friday 8th November after school. The team have been working hard in practise with Mr Grainger in their Thursday club and this showed in the game.

Olivier A was our captain and did well at motivating the players and encouraging good teamwork.

The first half, Clapgate played exceptionally well and dominated possession. They took an early lead. St Philip's then scored. However Hellena quickly scored to take us to a 2-1 league.

In the second half, St Philip's became stronger and took over possession. Clapgate continued working hard but unfortunately the game finished in a 7-2 win to St Philip's.

A big well done to our team though for a fantastic first game, lots of postives as well as things to focus upon for the rest of the season!

A special mention to Kaiden who was our Player of the Match, a real workhorse throughout the game and made a huge impact for Clapgate. Well done Kaiden!
