Summer 1

The Ugly Bug Ball

Welcome back after the Easter holidays! The sun is shining and the children are eager to start their new topic 'The Ugly Bug Ball'. This topic consists of learning about hot climates in Africa and exploring animals and habitats on safari. We will the continue to study minibeasts, invertebrates and vertebrates and the wonderful world of creepy crawlies!

The children have decorated the classroom to create a fantastic safari jeep. The children have been on an adventure to Africa, where they were chased by a tiger, built a camp and a fire and investigated some eagle eggs.

Have you ever been to Africa?

Yorkshire Wildlife Park

On Wednesday 25th April, the children in Year One are going to visit the Yorkshire Wildlife Park! Check back later in the week to see photos from our trip.

We are Scientists.

Today, the children became scientists. They met the Head Scientist and had to look carefully at some x-rays. The children were able to spot that some x-rays had bones and some didn't. They learned the terms vertebrate and invertebrate and how backbones help living things. Take a look at our photos:

Ugly Bug Ball

Thank you to all of the parents who attended our Ugly Bug Ball. The children were able to show their masks and their hand work from this half term.
