Mr Jennings has been teaching us about keeping a rhythm and a beat. We loved exploring this further with shakers.
Chinese New Year
Reception have been fascinated by Chinese New Year and wanted to create their own dragon dance. The children made their own dragon which we took outside with a variety of percussion instruments to make the music. We had a wonderful time creating our dance together.
Year 1 make music!
We used the boom whackers to play along to the alphabet song! The children took it in turns to use the instruments, and the ones who didn't have one sang along!
Singing to learn new facts!
In Year 1, we love combing music with other subjects to help us learn. We can all remember the 6 continents of the world by singing this song!
In Year 2 we have been moving our bodies to find the pulse of a song.
Also, we have been using instruments to find the pulse. We took it in turns to play, whilst everyone else was singing and clapping the rhythm.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
