Welcome back! I hope you all had a wonderful winter break and enjoyed the start to the new year! I'm very excited about the learning adventure this half term, and the children have already produced some amazing work.
This half term we will be going back in time to learn about the Anglo Saxons. The children will find out who they were and why they came to Britain. They will also learn many of the different tales that were told by the Anglo Saxons, such as The Sword in the Stone. At the end of the learning adventure, the children will be making their own bow and arrows and testing them at our very own Camelot Games. Keep an eye out for photos of this!
Book bags must be in school on a daily basis.
On the first day back, we enjoyed a creative context day where the children created loads of brilliant things which are now on display. They designed their own Anglo-Saxon shields, swords and coat of arms. They also wrote their names in runes and even wrote some secret messages. Some of the class painted large characters from the stories. Please take a look at the photos below.
