The Sheep Pig
This half term we are learning about the UK and therefore have decided to link this to the British countryside and The Sheep Pig. This was one of the previous year 4's favourite topic especially as it links with our trip to Lineham Farm. We will be comparing the cities and countries of the UK as well as looking at our local area in more detail. We look forward to sharing the children's work with you.
You can also see some of the children's fantastic work not related to this topic by clicking the link below.
Today, the children completed some amazing poems in the shape of the animal it was about. It was very difficult to choose just a handful to show here!
We recently received some terrible news that an attack had occurred at farmer Hogget's farm! We quickly put on our reporter hats and made our way to the crime scene. Once we gathered all our evidence and spoke to a witness (Babe the pig) we wanted to tell the world. Here are just a couple of our newspaper reports .
Now that we have helped Babe and the puppies to become better sheepdogs, we decided it would be time for a competition! We wanted as many people to come as possible so that everyone could see what a great pig Babe is and hopefully be spared....
We were tasked with helping Babe to become a good Sheeppig. So that we knew what to put in the instructions we practised being dogs ourselves. We needed to be sneaky and creep up on the farmer, listen carefully to instructions and then try and get the sheep into the pen. This was no easy task!
We spent the first week thinking about what it is like to be Babe at at UK farm. We drew pictures and wrote about our first day with all the animals.
We've had a great first week transforming our classroom into a farm. The children have done a brilliant job!
