In art, we have been linking our ideas of cave paintings to a famous painter. We have been looking at Edvard Munch and his different paintings. The children first looked at examples of his work of painting animals. The children discussed what they liked and disliked about the paintings.
We then copied Edvard Munch and did some of his ideas into our own sketch books.
The children then took on the style of Munch but chose Stone Age animals. The children first sketched them in their sketch books and then translated that onto a bigger piece of paper and used water colour to create some excellent pieces of work.
We then decided to use other materials to create our cave paintings. During parental involvement the children then used large rolls of paper and oil pastels to create simplistic drawings of their Stone Age animals.
