Year Four - Miss Jones

Welcome to 4CJ's page!!

Welcome back! We hope you have had a wonderful summer and are looking forward to wonderful school year. 4CJ will be taught by myself (Miss Jones), Mrs Boycott and Miss Beaumont on Tuesday mornings.

A little bit about me, I have taught at Clapgate Primary for 1 year. I completed my degree at York St John University, specialising in Maths and creativity. I have experience working in schools, nurseries and children clubs so hoping to bring everything I’ve learned together to provide a wonderful environment for all the children.

I am looking forward to work with the wonderful children in 4CJ and producing some fantastic creations throughout the year.

Swimming: Every Tuesday morning this term the children have the opportunity to go swimming. Please make sure the children bring a swimming costume and a towel. They may also bring goggles if they wish.

PE: Tuesday afternoons will be an opportunity to get active. When possible, we will be outdoors though the unreliable British weather may bring us indoors so please bring both kits. School kit is a plain white top, black shorts or jogging bottoms and trainers.

Book bags: Please make sure these are brought to class on Thursdays. This will give the chance to listen to all the children read so that we can make great progress in this area. We can also change any books which the children have completed so that they have access to a variety of stories.

Homework: Each Friday the children will receive maths homework related to the current topic. The children will have an opportunity to ask any questions about the work, though if you are unsure I will be available on Monday’s after school to go through any questions.

As part of our topic the children can also pick a project to complete at home. These can be done at any time over the term and brought in on Thursday, so that they can show the other children their skills.

The children can also take part in a reading challenge. The children can colour in a square when it’s completed and if they fill a line they can pick a prize from our reward box, which many have done already! I will need to get my thinking cap on for our next challenge!

Please do continue to send in photos and examples of any reading challenges the children have completed.
