Year Four - Miss Cooper

4RC have been studying Alice in Wonderland in their literacy. They asked to create some illustrations for their classroom so we looked at the pictures of the original illustrator, Sir John Tenniel. We worked very hard to produce our own versions using pen and watercolour - and are very proud of the results!

These drawings were made by Jayden, Alister, Ayden and Alisina - what a talented bunch!

Children from Year 4 went on a residential to Robin Wood recently. A fabulous time was had by all despite the rain and the snow! Everyone really pushed themselves to try different activities such as climbing, canoeing and the zip wire, even when they were scared. It was a wonderful few days that will leave everyone with treasured memories.

Here are a selection of pictures of Miss Cooper's group having a go on the trapeze!Looking a little nervous

In 4RC, we have been learning about bar charts. We decided that the best way to learn about them was to make our own human bar chart! We used it to show he different ways children in our class get to school, and it helped us to draw a real bar chart in our books afterwards.

Welcome to 4RC's class page! This will be updated regularly so please keep visiting.

A big welcome back to everyone in 4RC! We have had a brilliant first week so far, and I am sure we have a wonderful year ahead of us. We have been reading Peter Pan and already have produced some fantastic work!

We are beginning our Stone Age topic and will be learning lots about the very first humans and how they developed tools, and will have the chance to create our own cave paintings. We will also be investigating how sound is made and what affects pitch and volume, using our knowledge to create a musical instrument of our own.

Swimming will start on Tuesday 13th September and will take place every Tuesday - please remember to bring kits!

PE will take place on a Wednesday.

Please come and see me if you have any queries or questions!

New reading books will be sent home on a Friday - please bring these back on a Thursday so they can be changed.

New spellings will also be sent home on a Friday. Please help your child to learn these ready for a spelling test on Thursday.

It is also really important that children are practising their times tables every week. Please help your child to practise these at home as this will really help them. Children will receive a times tables book with their times tables in and will complete a times tables test on a Thursday.
