Year 6

Mindfulness

 

This half term, year 6 have been working their socks off in order to prepare and sit the SATs tests. In order to benefit everyone, we studied our mental health in PSHE lessons by learning all about mindfulness. We enjoyed discussing our feelings about SATs and leaving primary school. We also tried mindfulness colouring, yoga and meditation. Everyone has found it really useful to learn how to consciously calm themselves and manage their emotions.

We also learnt about the importance of a growth mindset over a fixed mindset. A growth mindset is where you don't give up and you enjoy challenging yourself. A fixed mindset is when you give up easily or when you don't think you can improve. Everyone agreed that a growth mindset will make us all much happier and help us to succeed in every walk of life.
