This half term we have been debating whether Christianity is still a strong religion. We discussed the festivals that are both Christian and non-Christian and spoke about which holidays are celebrated in school and why. We also considered the role of Christian charities and the influence faith has on people. The children enjoyed writing a balanced argument to consider whether Christianity is still a strong religion. After this, the children thought about starting a new religion and what it would have to involve to be considered strong.
In 6NW we have been learning about Christianity. We have found out about the different festivals celebrated by Christianity, many of which are still celebrated today. We also discussed the many different traditions followed by Christianity and decided whether or not these traditions are still a big part of Christianity today. After much discussion and research, we wrote a balanced argument discussing our own views about Christianity and if we think it is still a well followed religion thousands of years later.
