This week in Computing the children have been learning how to read a notification/ alert that has been sent to them by a teacher. The children learnt how their work can be marked on line and they enjoyed reading some of the lovely comments that I had left for them regarding their work. The children then learnt how to use the ‘search bar’ to search the range of resources and activities available on Purple Mash. Great work Year 1!
This week in Computing the children have been exploring the Website Purplemash. They enjoyed creating their own Avatar that they will use on the site. They learnt how to log on using their password and username. They were able to navigate the page to find where to edit their Avatar then choose the hairstyle, clothes, skin colour, eye colour and many other accessories. They had lots of fun!
This week in Computing we have learnt how to personalise our own Avatar. First we had to log on to the website using our cards and then we had to navigate around the page to locate the Avatar editor. Once we were on that we could change our hair, skin colour, eyes and clothes to match our own appearance. We had lots of fun with this!
This week in Computing we have been learning how to use our personalised log on cards to safely log on to Purple Mash website. Once logged on, we designed the front cover to our own Christmas card. We explored selecting and using different tools and resources. We even practiced typing on the keyboard to write our name. Once we had finished we learnt how to save our work in 'My Files' and we sent out work to the printer.
