This week in Science the children have been learning about the diets of different animals. We first started to think about what different animals eat and what are the similarities and differences. The children then when on a fact hunt in the playground and found information about an animal’s diet. They had to work as a team to guess what animals it might belong to. We then when inside and thought about if these animals were omnivores, carnivores or herbivores. Super!

This week the children have been learning about the groups of animals in the animal kingdom. the children first thought about the different animals then grouped them into different groups. They learnt what reptiles, mamalls , amphibians, birds, fish and insects are. The children worked in groups to discuss the features and think about which group each went into to. There was some fantastic discuss. Well done!

This week the children have been learning about the different animals in the animals kingdom. The children have been looking at a range of animals and they have been classifying them into the correct animal group. We have been learning about amphibians, reptiles, mammals fish, birds and insects. The children looked carefully at the features of each animal and they discussed as group to decide which classification hoop they were going to place each animal in. Well done!

The children have been learning about different diets of animals. We thought about what animals each and why they might each different food. We discussed the similarities and differences between diets. The children then learnt the new terms omnivore, carnivore and herbivore. The children then went on a hunt in the playground. We found boxes with facts, pictures and clues about what the animal eat. the children had to guess what the animal might be.We then sorted the animals into whether they were omnivores, carnivores or herbivores.

This week the children have been learning about labelling parts of animals. The children looked at different animals and thought about what made them similar or different. We discuss the different parts of reptiles, mammals and birds. We thought about what was similar between these groups. After thinking about the parts of a rabbit as a group, we labelled our our image of an elephant
