1SP- Jungle soundscape.
During our imagineering lesson, we went outside and created a soundscape of a jungle. We used instruments and also our voices to create sounds in the jungle.

What can you hear in a jungle?

Year 2

We have been making music using Purple Mash. We used the Twinkle Twinkle program to explore the sounds of different instruments and how to layer them together. We changed the tempo and volume of the different layers to think about how to make songs that might convey happiness or sadness.

We swapped teachers for an afternoon at Clapgate as a reward! Miss Buxton from 4EB had the chance to go down to 2SL, and together they had a go on some violins!
Year 2 have also been learning to identify the pulse and steady beat in different pieces of music.  This helps us with singing the song correctly.

Miss Buxton's after school Boomwhackers club has been amazing recently! We particularly love to play How Far I'll Go from Moana!

I Live in West Yorkshire

Year 6 have been learning about West Yorkshire this half term so we thought about some famous songs and pop groups from the area. One of the bands we knew about was the Kaiser Chiefs from Leeds, so we sang our own version of their most well-known song 'I Predict A Riot' and changed the words to 'I Live in West Yorkshire'.

Ilkley Moor Bah'tat!

Year 6 thought this song - the most famous of all Yorkshire songs - was pretty uncool compared to songs of today, but after a while, they started to like the song and the funny lyrics.

Year 5 - Fresh Prince Of Bel Air.

This half term the children have been learning about the hip hop genre. The childrne absolutely loved this genre as they liked the beat of the music and felt that they could dance along to it. The children learnt the well known song by Will Smith and did very well at rapping each of the verses. The children shared their opinions about the song. What they liked, what they would change and what they didn't like. Take a look at us having a go at singing the song below.
