Summer 1 - Fairy Tale Forest

Wow!  Is it the summer term already?  We hope you have all had a lovely Easter break and are ready to immerse yourselves in our Fairy Tale Forest.

This half term, our focus will be on exploring different fairy tales and examining what they have in common and what their differences are.  Our learning will be linked to animals, nature and the outdoors.

We will be carrying out the Year 2 SATs during the week commencing Monday 20th May.  The children are very familiar with the question types and the assessments will be carried out in small groups in the classroom.  If you have any questions, please feel free to come and speak to us.

We have been busy listening carefully to lots of fairy tales and have worked in groups to analyse them. This is us working in groups to analyse the tale of "The Sly Fox and the Little Red Hen".

We listened to the story of 'The Sly Fox and the Little Red Hen' and then we made up actions to help us to retell the story.  Have a look at the videos below, showing us retelling parts of the story.

In PE we enjoyed the sunshine and loved our warm-up game.  We learned how to improve our running technique in our athletics lesson and we practised it whilst doing team relays.
