We have such an exciting half term ahead! Our topic is called 'Magical Monsters' and we will use the books below as inspiration for our learning.
We will be writing character and setting descriptions, exploring food chains and different habitats and we will even be making our own monster puppets!
We are delighted to have the drama company 'Alive and Kicking' working with us so that we can fully immerse ourselves in the world of magical monsters. We can't wait!
Someone had left a margarine tub in our classroom after play time.
So, Mrs Stirk peered inside and described what she saw. Inside the tub was a Bog Baby! We came up with lots of questions we wanted to ask him and then we read the book together and found out many of the answers.
We imagined that we were the girls who took Bog Baby from his habitat and we wrote letters to apologise:
We have created our own wild things and have written lists of food they eat.
We had a great time looking for pictures to match the homophones that were written on our trail sheets. We had to match the picture to the correct spelling of the word. We found 12 altogether.
In science we have been learning about habitats. We went on a hunt in the school grounds to find micro-habitats. We found them all over! Whilst we were there we began to collect some natural objects to use in the bug hotel that we are hoping to make.
Check out our findings:
In design technology we have designed our own monster puppets. We are improving our sewing skills to put it all together.
In computing we have been working together to create simple programs using code.
