Reception

In RFW we have been talking about emotions. We sat with a partner and showed them different emotions using our face and body. We described our partners' face and body shape and discussed how it was alright to feel different emotions from other people. The children thought about different ways they could look after their friends if they were feeling sad, upset or cross.

"Make them laugh."
"Give them a cuddle."

We really enjoyed going on a winter walk this week. We talked about how to stay safe and healthy in the cold weather so we all made sure we had our coats zipped up and we were walking carefully. We looked at how things had changed and what was different in our playground. We took the tablets outside to take pictures of the things we found.

RFW

This week the children have thought more about the three billy goats gruff and the troll. They had to think about how the billy goats and how the troll felt. They discussed how the billy goats would be happy because they were crossing over the bridge to eat the sweet grass and that they were all friends so they had someone else to spend time with and how the troll might be feeling sad because he had no friends and was lonely or mad because people kept crossing over his bridge. We thought about how we could look after our friends by making sure they weren't lonely and that we played nicely with them.

The children have learnt about different fruits and vegetables. They have looked at them and talked about their different shapes and colours and have talked about the fruits and vegetables that they know and like to eat. They have also talked about the importance of washing hands before handling food in order to stay healthy.

"Tomatoes are fruit."
"Get big and strong."

"Carrots help you see in the dark."

RLS

We have been trying different fruit and vegetables this week and talking about why we need to make sure we are eating lots of them. We were all very brave and tried at least one new fruit or vegetable.
